Helping families of neurodivergent children navigate school, advocacy and everyday life with confidence.
I'm Yolande - a speech pathologist of 18 years and mum to three neurodivergent kids.
I help parents advocate for their child at school, navigate the systems that don't always make it easy, and build calmer, more connected days at home - without ever promising a fix, because there isn't one.
A NOTE FROM YOLANDE
I've sat on the floor outside a classroom at 2pm, trying to talk a meltdown down - while a teacher looked at me like I should've had this fixed by now.
And I've sat in that exact same meltdown as the parent. At home. Wondering if I was the one getting it wrong.
Both of those moments live in me. They're honestly why I do what I do.
This space exists for the parent who's doing the googling at 11:00PM, who's tired of translating school-speak, who just wants someone to say — this is hard, and you're not failing, and here's something that might actually help.
I bring the clinical knowledge, but I also bring the version of me that's still figuring it out in real time, three kids in, most days in my running shoes because that's where my own brain gets quiet enough to think.
I'm not here to hand you a quick fix or a silver bullet. I'm here to walk beside you, while you build the skills and the confidence you already have.
If that sounds like your kind of village — I'm so glad you're here.
With love (and a healthy dose of red dirt),
Yolande

Walk Into Your Next School Meeting Feeling Prepared
You've got a meeting on the calendar, and chances are your brain is already running a hundred kilometres an hour...
What do I say if they ask something I haven't thought about?
What if I get emotional and lose my train of thought?
What if I agree to something in the room and regret it later?
Here's what eighteen years on both sides of that table has taught me: the meetings that go well are rarely decided in the room. They're decided in the days before it.
Walk In Ready gets you there.
It'll help you:
Get the meeting details confirmed, so nothing catches you off guard on the day
Pull together the reports, goals and supports you need to have on hand
Name your child's top challenges and strengths clearly, before you're put on the spot
